Bringing Holiday Spirit Back to Kamloops

Bringing Holiday Spirit Back to Kamloops

In the city of Kamloops, the holiday season is just beginning and it’s not too late to bring back some of those nostalgic traditions. This year, we want to encourage residents to bring this cherished tradition back to Kamloops making a grand comeback—Christmas carolling. It’s time this old tradition gets modern-day revival, bringing the community together over the holiday season.

Picture this: snow-dusted streets echoing with timeless holiday melodies, neighbors stepping out to sing along, and a palpable sense of joy filling the air. That’s the vision behind revitalizing the spirit of the season while strengthening the bonds that make Kamloops so special.

We spoke to Deborah Sidwell a local Kamloops resident of 22 years who wants to bring back the “old times” how she remembers them from all those years ago. She says it has been several years since anyone has come to her home to spread the cheer.

Beyond the music, this is about connection. Four years later and the old traditions have yet to come back post-COVID19. Carolling events offer an opportunity to come together, celebrate, and create lasting memories. Perhaps in 2024 we can see a new fun and exciting twist introducing celebratory music from other cultures into carolling.
